~ Journal entry ~
The little tree wasn’t always alone, surrounded by a lake. Her story began like so many others, in a forest where trees tend to gather and fight for the light. While they grew taller, she couldn’t compete, so instead she spread her roots out as far as they could reach. The tall trees ignored her and taller they grew, sacrificing their foundation to claim the height throne. And when the floods came, and oh did they come, the tall trees toppled with their shallowness to blame. But the little tree was ready and remains standing even now, surrounded by a lake.
Available as a rolled print or framed on 310gsm 100% smooth cotton rag paper.
All prints come with a standard white border and are titled and signed by the photographer, Shane Cartlidge. If you would like edge-to-edge printing, please leave us a note during checkout.
Frames are handmade from sustainable Victorian Ash and finished in a shadowbox style where the print is set back from the museum grade plexiglass. We offer three standard sizes in natural, white or black finish.
